Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” There is plenty of history, and even current events, that We, the American people, should remember. If not, we will be condemned to repeat the tyranny we refuse to learn from.

Today, I talk with two people who can provide some insights into where America is going. First, Dr. Ming Wang will tell us what it was like growing up in Communist China during the Cultural Revolution. Dr. Wang describes life without freedom, without rights, and without opportunity. Then I talk with Cathi Chamberlain about her reporting of what has been going on in Australia. The question is, are these a preview of what America will look like in the coming years?

Our nation is polarized. We seem to be unable to agree on anything. However, the recent riots and violence at the Capitol revealed something on which all of us do agree, i.e., in the greatest country on earth, democracy is what we as Americans deeply treasure.
